Post

As coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is becoming a nightmare for people across the whole world, everyone is searching for different effective methods that can prevent this disease. Keeping personal cleanliness and wearing protective masks are the main preventive measures that are recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) for preventing the disease-causing virus from entering your body.

You have to wash your hands frequently using soap or hand rub and water. If this option is not possible for you, then another alternative available for you is to clean your hands with an alcohol-based sanitizer. This will help you to prevent the virus from entering your body through your hands. If you touch a surface that has viruses on it, and then touch your nose, mouth or eyes, the virus will easily enter your body. Therefore, always remember not to touch your face without cleaning your hands after touching another surface.

How Masks Can Help You To Prevent Coronavirus?

If you inhale respiratory droplets produced by a person who is infected with coronavirus, then the virus can enter your body. This is where face masks for coronavirus can come to your rescue. This will help you to prevent respiratory droplets from entering your body through your mouth or nose. Also, when a person who is infected with this disease wears a mask when he sneezes or coughs, it will help him to prevent contaminating his surroundings and spreading the disease.

What Type Of Face Mask Can Be Useful Against Coronavirus?

When using face masks for coronavirus, you have to be aware of the fact that there are different types of masks available in the market and all of them are not effective for preventing this virus.

The mask that you get commonly from your pharmacy is surgical masks. These masks should be worn for a maximum of 3-8 hours only and they cannot protect you from different infectious agents like coronavirus.

Another type of mask that is available is a respirator that might not be always available in your pharmacy. These masks can help you to prevent different infectious agents like coronavirus, H1N1, SARS, etc. However, when buying a respirator, you have to be aware of its classifications. They are mainly classified into three including FF1, FF2, and FF3.

FF1 is the least filtering among them with an aerosol filtration of almost 80% and a maximum leakage that amounts to 22%. The filtration of FF2 masks is 94% and the maximum leakage is 8%, whereas, the FF3 masks have a minimum filtration of 99% and a maximum leakage of 2%.

Among these variations, you should use at least an FF2 or FF3 mask for getting protection against coronavirus. An N95 respirator which has a filtration capacity of 95% can also be useful for you to prevent coronavirus from entering your body.
